soft gel (shellac)

our promise to you:

send us a message if you experience any issues with your soft gel nails within the first week

What is Soft Gel?

Soft Gel or also known as Shellac (the brand) is a soft flexible gel polish that can be soaked off with acetone. Soft gel is applied without structure and is thinner than hard gel.

Expected Duration

Soft gel is expected to last 2-3 weeks before expected lifting appears. It is best suited for clients who do minimal work with their hands.

Service Expectations

Our service begins with removal of any existing gel on the nails with our gentle e-file technique. A dry manicure is then performed using Russian Manicure techniques. The nail is then hand buffed before applying any polish. Our gel polish are sourced from reputable asian brands - from Japan, Korea and China. After our gel application, we finish the service with our e-file exfoliation of the fingers with cuticle oil.

Refill

A refill is recommended every 3-4 weeks for the best nail health and longevity.

Designs - $5-15

As soft gel does not create structure to the nail - it is not possible to have extension with soft gel.

For a similar reason, not all designs can be support by soft gel. Simple designs that require only painting such as cateye polish ($5) or hand drawn designs (Up to $15) can be done.

Complex designs that require gel to adhere to such as pearls, seashells or stones cannot be done. For these designs, it is recommended that you book a Hard Gel Manicure with Designs add on.

hard gel

our promise to you:

send us a message if you experience any issues with your hard gel nails within the first two weeks.

What is Hard Gel?

Hard Gel is a gel service that uses thicker and denser gel to create structure to the nail. As such, Hard Gel on the nails will appear thicker than regular nail polish or soft gel. Hard Gel typically cannot be soaked off.

Expected Duration

Hard gel is expected to last 3+ weeks and is best suited for clients who work with their hands or require extension or more complex designs. For clients that tend to wash their hands often or has naturally hydrated nails, lifting can appear as early as 2 weeks.

We include up to 4 free nail extensions should any nails break before your refill appointment, or the appointment will be charged the extension add-on.

Extensions - $20

For those that are looking for a longer length for their natural nails, please select the add-on included with your Hard Gel service. For extensions to be applied, the natural nail is cut down and filed. Our extensions are adhered using a Gel Base - not with glue, before trimming and shaping to your ideal length.

Designs - $5-40

We believe that designs should not cost an arm and a leg, so we set the maximum price for a design to cost you $40 at the most. That being said, if your design is incredibly complex, we recommend reaching out to us to make sure that we have allocated enough time for your appointment. We recommend getting a quote and sending all your inspo photos to us on Instagram before booking.

PS - we love being spammed by inspo photos :)

removal

our promise to you:

whether you want a break or need your nails off for any reason, we have your back - judgement free.

Why should I get my nails professionally removed?

Manual (or oral) removal of your gel nails is strongly advised against. Due to the nature of how gel nails are applied, when you try to pry off the gel nails, you will take layers of your natural nail off. It may not be visibly noticeable but you may experience nail brittleness and struggle with growing out your natural nails.

Service Expectations

Our service begins with removal of any existing gel on the nails with our gentle e-file technique. A thin layer of base gel is left behind to ensure the natural nail has not been compromised. A simple dry manicure is then performed using Russian Manicure techniques. A healing polish is applied with a unique blend of nutrients, fragrance with a little bit of shine back to your nails. This Korean blend is sourced to strengthen the protein layer for healthy nail growth. After our application, we finish the service with our e-file exfoliation of the fingers with cuticle oil.

Can I try to soak off my nails with acetone?

Soft gel can be easier to remove at home but requires a few items. With hard gel, the same techniques can be applied but will take longer and may not work. Both of which are not as recommended due to the harsh nature of acetone. If you choose to do so, please remember to keep a nail file with you from your appointment.

  • Gently file off the shiny top coat, if you go into colours layer, that is ok.

  • Soak your acetone for 15-20 minutes, you should start to see cracks form

  • Scrap off the polish and gently file the remaining polish off
